Speaking on the television programme named Bring Happiness Back to Thais last night, Gen Prayuth mentioned the anti-coup three-fingered gesture of defiance copied from the Hollywood movie The Hunger Games. The coup leader said Thais should not copy foreign cultural influences. "I don't want to have a conflict with you people [protesters] but please do that in your homes," he said. Gen Prayuth suggested people who love the nation should hold up five fingers instead. Two fingers would be for the nation and the others for the King, religion and people, he said. Som turist märker man ingen större skillnad, förutom all bevakning och att man ska vara tillbaka på sina kammare vid midnatt i de områdena där ännu inte utegångsförbudet är helt hävt. (Undrar hur det kommer att kringgås under fotbolls-VM med tidigaste avspark just vid midnatt.) Dock bör man snabbt avvika vid eventuella protestmöten, när ordningsmakten ingriper finns risk för sammandrabbningar.
