Blomsterfestivalen missade jag nästan helt och hållet i år. Men Charming Chiang Mai Flower Festival 2022 lyckades/råkade jag se sista dagen, 15 februari.
I samma område, nära City Hall och 700 Stadium, rustas det nämligen för nästa festival, Colors of Culture - The Charm of Chiang Mai, som jag var nyfiken på.
Colors of Culture - The Charm of Chiang Mai kommer nog till sin rätt mest kvällstid. De stora begivenheterna ska ske 17 och 18 februari med inslag av etniska minoritetsgrupper, se utdrag från Out and about in Chiang Mai:
The OTOP fair at Chaloem Phrakiat Public Park will be replaced by an ethnic festival from Monday, February 14th, to Friday, February 18th, 2022, Colors of Culture - The Charm of Chiang Mai. It's a great opportunity to meet members of the various ethnic minorities that populate Northern Thailand. There are two distinct groups. The hill tribes: Karen, Hmong (Miao), Lahu (Muse), Lisu, Akha, Palaung, Lua (Lawa), Mien (Yao) and Kachin. And the ethnic groups living in the plain: Tai Yuan, Tai Yai, Tai Khoen, Tai Lüe and Tai Yong,
The festival is organised by the provincial authorities to promote handicrafts and tourism in the region. This region has long been home to many ethnic minorities who live in remarkable cohesion. And this cultural event contributes to the conservation of these rich cultures with their ancestral traditions. You will see an exhibition of the way of life of these minorities, as well as a market where you can buy their products, whether they are crafts or agricultural.
